The Beginning:

Some years ago I decided to take the road less travelled on my vacations. One of the things I did was search for interesting places to stay in Goa and the hill country in the north of India. The two months that I spent, reading travel guides and trawling the internet for these places, was well worth the effort. I had a fabulous time, living almost  like a local and experiencing their lifestyle and culture.

Since then, every time I returned from a holiday, I had no peace. My friends would be waiting to hear about the places I stayed in and the things I did. They wanted to follow suit, with my help for their next holiday.

Soon I was mailing out details of the places I stayed to a sizeable number of friends, family and colleagues. Somewhere along the way I realized my passion for independent travel and unique small properties was something that could reach out to a larger audience. What began as an idea snowballed into a business, with recommendations flowing in from every vacation I’d arranged.

Our Choices:

For every property we list, we deny many others on the basis of our review. It’s only after a personal visit that we even consider a property; this ensures you get only the gems from our treasured finds. We select them on the basis of accommodations, services, congeniality of hosts and value.
